Aasgard Pass and Helmets

by MarkDidier » Mon Aug 08, 2016 11:52 pm

Yes or No?

Probably heading up Little Annapurna in a few weeks. Looks like plenty of loose rock in that gully from Colchuck Lake to the pass.
Just curious what the general opinion is on the necessity of the helmet. Thanks.

Never worn a helmet on Aasgard pass. I don't recall any rockfall at all, there is a good trail all the way.

Josh and I both belong to an unfortunate club whose members have been struck on the head by rock fall without a helmet whilst climbing. If we can both agree that helmets are not necessary for a certain area, you can take that to the bank.

EB is right that I take the helmet front a lot more seriously these days. Plus eating healthier has made it a lot easier for me (I had a skin condition that made it very itchy). :D
