I had lots of fun summiting Mount Hood yesterday with my friends Casey and Lance. That's #46 for me.

Thanks! Yeah, it was definitely a great climb. It's one of my favorites so far, right up there with the MR on Whitney.

Hello,

I am a high pointer and former lurker of this fantastic forum and have completed 11 so far, among me some of the more difficult ones. Here is my progress list with links to trip reports, GPS Tracks and Photo galleries: http://www.robertdangerbyrd.com/us-state-highpoint-list.

I currently find myself stuck in Talkeetna for the 5th day trying to get onto the mountain to attempt an Denali summit. We have had consistent bad weather days and planes are not flying in or out. I guess it's better to be stuck here than on the mountain, but it's frustrating nonetheless.

I'm blogging about the trip at http://www.robertdangerbyrd.com/blog and will continue to do so once on the mountain via satellite.

My summer 2014 plans are Kings Peak, Utah on July18, and Mt. Elbert, Colorado on August 30. They will be HPs #10 and #11 for me. It's going to be fun!

Hotoven and I plan to be on Kings Peak on the 4th of July. I will do my best to post some beta here upon our return. BTW, does anyone know how or why we all became "magnificent gentlemen"? Not that it's a bad thing....

Cool! I'll look forward to hearing your trip report. BTW, I bought the Peak Bagger Training Plan from Mountian Athlete to prepare for these hikes. It's pretty tough so far and probably overkill, but without a doubt, I will be ready for it. If you're looking for any kind of training plan, I recommend it.

Hotoven, Andy, and I successfully summitted Kings Peak on July 4th. A few short snow fields to cross...no big deal. The famed hordes of mosquitoes did not materialize. We did not find the short cut herd path along West Gunsight so dropped into the Painter Basin. Apparently we needed to go directly up from Gunsight Pass in order to get above the cliff band on the south side of the mountain. Painter made a longer day but was good to get off the ridge due to storms. Get to the top as early as possible. We hit the peak at 11:30 AM. By noon it was threatening to storm. Long but very enjoyable day trip.... 15 hours RT from trailhead. I was warned it would be very crowded due to the holiday...yet we only counted 13 (including ourselves) making a summit attempt. Most had set up base camp.
Lots of moose in the Henry's Fork Basin! #37 for me, #36 for Hotoven!

J, I'm moving to upper west side in August and we should hang out! And yes definitely we should coordinate for Gannett together, I met a guy on Mt. Hood and he was planning for Gannett as well. I'm thinking going in early July. -Alex
