1938 High Camp Discovery on Mount Everest

Jake Norton discovers the 1938 high camp on the North East Shoulder of Mount Everest in 2004. All that Jake discovered was a tent pole, some old cans, bits of tent material, and some pitons and other items.

New Rules for Climbing on Mount Everest

The government has revised the Mountaineering Expedition Regulation under the Tourism Act barring people with complete blindness and double amputation, as well as those medically unfit for climbing, from attempting to scale Mount Everest and other mountains.

Everest Liaison Officers Insurance Raised

Starting 2018, a mountaineering expedition team will have to pay more for the life insurance cover of its liaison officer to attempt to climb Mount Everest, according to a new mountaineering expedition regulation.
