Polish climbers are already in the base near K2, from where they will set off to conquer this unconquered mountain in winter. At the end of December, they flew from Warsaw to Islamabad, and then to Skard. They went to Askole by car. From there, a caravan going by the Baltoro glacier started a few days. See unpublished photos from travel and bases.

Cerro Adela Sur - East edge - variant / variation
[English further down]
//
The Romanians and török zsolt climbed a variant to the east edge of cerro adela sur. On the edge, they climbed a very obvious wall, which was in six long lengths to m5+ and wi4. The Ascension Required 17 hours of niponino to the summit, with a bivouac in the descent, which made a rather dangerous line just a little further north.

Romanians Vlad Capusan and Török Zsolt climbed a variation to the Filo Este route on Cerro Adela Sur. In the upper ridge they climbed and obvious steep wall which involved six pitches with difficulties to M5+ and WI4 . The ascent took them 17 hs from Niponino to the top, with one bivy on the descent, which they did via a fairly dangerous line to the north.

https://www.facebook.com/56362095698784 ... =3&theater -- Aguja Guillaumet East Face
Some ten days Matías Korten and Juvenal Condori linked several lines on the east face of Aguja Guillaumet, climbing a few virgin bits in between. The resulting combo is a good option when there are good ice conditions, with the benefit that it avoids the lower porting of the Beger-Jennings which often is not in.

https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php? ... 0956987849 -- Aguja Val Biois East Face from Patagonia Vertical Facebook
In mid January, Lutz Zybell, Felix Getzlaff, Tom Ehrig from Germany climbed a new route on the east face of Aguja Val Biois.
“La Torcida” starts left of Couloir Este and follows a left leaning crack system to the ridge of Filo Sur. It climbs 12 pitches with difficulties to 7a and some mixed climbing. Tom led every pitch onsight. They fixed the first two pitches the evening before starting and retreated upon joining the Filo Sur route. They left no gear in place, except one piton above the bergschrund to mark the start. They found signs of a previous attempt up to below half height, but nothing above. They describe it as an enjoyable climb on mostly solid rock. The face is quite sheltered from the wind, so it is a good option when the weather doesn’t allow for bigger adventures

https://www.facebook.com/americanalpine ... =3&theater -- Unclimbed 7000 meter peaks near Broad Peak, K2 and Gasherbrums - by American Alpine Journal
Over the last two seasons, two teams have attempted the first ascent. In 2017, a Chilean team climbed the east-southeast ridge to the southeast summit, but did not attempt the long traverse to the main summit. For those who aspire to bag this unclimbed Karakoram giant, Alejandro Mora has some advice in his AAJ report: "The ridge leading toward the main peak was very sharp and corniced, and the higher peak was very far away, requiring some descent before climbing to the top," he wrote. "I think that the best way to reach the main summit will be to follow a different approach to the base and climb a direct route."
In the photo: The east-southeast ridge of Praqpa Ri, climbed by three Chileans in 2017, rises from the saddle to the summit of the southeast peak. The main summit is across the long horizontal ridge to the right. Photo by Armando Montero.
