Bulk Image uploader - REPORT BUGS HERE

by Matt Miller » Fri Nov 02, 2018 1:00 am

A new feature to upload multiple images all at the same time has (finally) been added to SummitPost. The tool can be accessed here:
https://www.summitpost.org/bulk_image_uploader.php

The main upload image process was altered too, as this feature was added, to check the EXIF data and rotate the image if it is incorrectly rotated and also get latitude and longitude coordinates from the image and use them if none are specified in the form.

If you have a page created and would like to add multiple images to it at the same time, look for the "Add Multiple Images" link in the left sidebar of the page. All images uploaded in that session will automatically inherit the latitude and longitude of the page, along with being attached to that page.

This bulk image uploading tool has been tested but not exceptionally thoroughly. Please post any bugs related to this tool here. Thanks!

Uploader works well, except the orientation of the image is not uploaded to. Everything is in landscape. Having a 'Rotate Photo' option would be forever helpful.

The rotate photo option is already in the works! Actually, most of the work was done already. We just need to test it and then release it. It should be coming in the next week or so.

I tried this twice and it simply does not work at all. It just goes back to the page as if nothing ever happened. This would be a good feature if it worked.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the bulk image uploader. Please elaborate. There are a few different ways to use this feature. What exactly are you attempting to do with it (attach photos to an existing page? Upload multiple unattached photos at once?), and what does "it just goes back to the page" mean exactly? What is "the page" you're referring to?

Hello! I tried uploading images and got this error:
replace_object() INSERT INTO `objects` SET `object_id`=NULL,`type_id`=3,`last_edit`=NOW(),`creation`=NOW(),`last_edit_user_id`=173001,`created_user_id`=173001,`construction`='No',`object_name`='pic08_s',`latitude`='NAN',`longitude`='NAN',`object_body_nft`='',`is_primary_photo_user_set`=0,`query_name`='pic08_s' ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE `object_id`=NULL,`type_id`=3,`last_edit`=NOW(),`creation`=NOW(),`last_edit_user_id`=173001,`created_user_id`=173001,`construction`='No',`object_name`='pic08_s',`latitude`='NAN',`longitude`='NAN',`object_body_nft`='',`is_primary_photo_user_set`=0,`query_name`='pic08_s' failed: DB Error: unknown error

So my idea is that I was trying to upload a duplicate file with the same name but I couldn't find it in my profile gallery.

I have already prepared an html report with pictures in one folder. Please, could you advise me on the best way to upload photos?
Thanks!
PS. I tried to delete several images and got error:
delete_object() failed: Likely due to the request to delete this object already being received. Here is the error message: DB Error: already exists
I have no idea what to do and how other members create their posts with pictures((
