by harpner » Tue Jun 05, 2007 11:19 am

Does anyone have recommendations for a glacier school in Quito? I tried moggley but they're not running classes unless I have 2 people. Thanks.

Received this from Marcial President of ASEGUIM (national association of mountain guides). He provides the following services:

marcial”

Bottom line 1 or more days, yours to determine, on Cayambe glaciers; usage of knots, crampons, ice-axe, rope, self arresting, ice climbing, belaying; cost 60$/day not including transportation (Ario> I believe 60$ to 100$), food and refuge / hut if you choose a 2 or more day program.
He can help you find / rent the technical gear (Ario> I understand not included in the price, I Believe you can rent the crampons, ice-axe, plastic boots for 20$ max / day).

If interested e-mail Marcial Amable: "marcial1[at]hotmail[dot]com"

Hope you'll find a training that will fulfill your needs,
Ario
