yikes... when I first started reading this post I was prepared for something much worse so I have to say that I was very relief to find out that he's 'only' badly banged up. Sending healing vibes for a speedy recovery!

How long will he be laid up for? Can we get a mailing addy? I thought it might help pass the time if he had some reading material... maybe some postcards and local climbing rags from his SP friends? I'd be happy to put a few goodies together from my neck of the woods. I'm leaving for Wyoming on Wednesday though so I'd need to pop it in the mail by then so if someone can get me an addy that would be cool.

I just got back from visiting Rob. He is pretty tired and is sedated. He did say that he was sitting up the highest since he arrived. That's good. I relayed all of your best wishes to him and he very much appreciates them. I will see him again after work tomorrow and will be glad to relay on any messages. He said the one thing to let you all know is "WATCH OUT FOR DEER!!!"

Bad news... Poor Rob. He just recovered from his foot injury. Get well soon, buddy!
Carolyn, keema, I'd like to visit him (I sent you PMs). Please let me know where he is.
Vlad.

Sorry to read this news. Chin up Rob (actually, lots of chin-ups and a few push-ups too) and the rocks, ice, and mountains will still be there, waiting. Mountains are very patient.

Hi Carolyn, my name is Chris. Rob was to meet me at Saddlebag late
thursday/early friday(1am). I didn't sweat it, figuring he decided to stop
& sleep somewhere and would show up at 6 or 7am. By noon he hadn't shown
up, left a message or answered his phone as I was checking from the T.
Meadows pay phone. I knew there was good reason for him not showing.
Although I've only known him a short time, Rob strikes me as a stand-up
guy. He was going cragging after work thursday and didn't want to flake on
his partner so he was going to head out for T.M. after that. He had made
those plans first and didn't want to break that commitment; a very stand-up
guy.
My worst fears were realized this morning. The only bit of relief is
in his condition is "stable".
Please convey my wishes for a speedy recovery. I'll talk to him in a
few days. What he needs now is rest. After he's told the story 117 times he
can tell it to me on tuesday or wednesay for the 118th.
Please let me know as I would be happy to chip in for flowers, cards,
books , etc. Perhaps a S.P. recovery fund with a Paypal address?

Best Wishes, Chris (copy of PM sent earlier)
