Have not been there recently but I checked the Slovak mountain rescue page http://www.hzs.sk/ where you have links to what you may need if you can read Slovak that is. Otherwise avalanche information is here: http://www.hzs.sk/info/lavinyprehlad.php

Currently snow conditions are from 8-208cm and avalanche danger is at 2 from the 5 grade scale with a rising tendency according to the web.

About 10cm of fresh snow has fallen in the past 24hours. temps are from -1 to -13C° and winds of up to 60km/h.

take care and enjoy

Thanks! I checked out the webpages and the weather forecast does not seem too inviting :(

ou may also try here.
http://www.topr.pl/
Most of the page is only in Polish. The avalanche forecast is also in English. Sadly info about conditions in specific areas is Polish only.
I'll probably go to Tatras on 25/26th of December.

If you are looking for more detailed weather forecast, try http://meteo.icm.edu.pl/. Just choose Zakopane from the list.
Let us know if you need English translation =].
