Conditions in March

by MountainGoatMic » Fri Feb 22, 2008 12:47 am

Two things...
1. What are the conditionslike in March? My group is planning on going from March 22-29. What temperatures should we expect?
2. Does anyone know the distance from Hut-High camp (the one below the glacier) and from High camp to the summit?

I am referring to the distance from the Piedra Grande Hut to the High Camp just below the Jamapa Glacier. Any info you can give would be helpful. Distance, hours (average)... Thanks for your help.

About 2 miles/2,000 feet. It takes about 2 hours at an easy pace with a light pack. I would plan for 3 - 4 hours to take it slow with full packs.
