It was apparently in good condition as of last week but freezing levels have dropped and it has been dumping precip here for a couple of days now with high winds. I'm just heading up the cable car now so if I can see anything interesting, I'll post again when I get down.

The closed the Midi cable car due to 100km/hr winds so I didn't make it up. Probably safe to assume that its pretty crap up there right now.

Your lucky you didnt make it up because if you got stuck up there they make you sleep on the stone floor outside the toilets (we called it the west wing) and it totally stinks. I think it was this time last year I had the pleasure of experiencing a glorious night up there :(

web cam on Frendo spear

by Eskil » Mon Jul 14, 2008 9:30 pm

Last night it has snowed down to 2000m, but tomorrow it will probably melt and dry, so wednesday can be ok conditions to climb the Frendo spear, but I think it could be a lot of snow on the upper snow field, just walking down the ridge from the Midi was a bit tricky today.
Look at the different forecasts and the web cam on this link to see how it looks on the mountain: http://www.mountainspirit.info/weather.asp
