Looking for Guide books for Mt. Cook region and Mt. Aspiring

by scottsolinko » Sun Dec 07, 2008 7:10 pm

Leaving in less than a month to spend 2 month climbing and cant find guide books in the US. And to order them from new zealand ill pass them mid flight.

Does any one have these books for sale? Or I can buy them from you and return brand new ones from the island myself.

But I need the books to plan this long of a trip.

Have you tried: http://alpineclub.org.nz/ ??

They ship outside NZ and have a selection of mountaineering, climbing and tramping guide books. They will undoubtedly cover the regions you are interested in.

Have you tried Chessler Books? They have the best selection of mountaineering books (guidebooks and other literature as well) of any store I've found. (And, yes, they are in the US.)

A quick search reveals a number of NZ guidebooks:

Chessler Books has the books but they are $75 before tax and shipping. Just going to play it by ear and get the books in New Zealand
