The new license does look pathetic, but maybe the bureaucrats are leaving the open space on the right side for some regional imaging. How about the infamous highway "Caution" sign of the dad, mom, and kid running across the freeway or just a brown patch (smog) for us here in So Cal. Maybe those of you in the Bay area could use an image of an East Bay/downtown Oakland crack dealer, or a San Francisco gay couple holding hands. San Joaquin Valley folks might like a meth cooker. Eastern Sierra residents will probably have to have an boring image of Mt. Whitney or maybe Brower Palisade.

Don't you just love the diversity here in California!

Funny!

I might buy a plate if it were stamped out by Bernie Madoff and personally signed.

This is just one more example of why California needs to trade the High Sierra to us for everything within 50 miles of the Stratosphere.

Oh, and we'll "throw" Harry Reid in for free.

Yeah, maybe we should just stick to one image - The State Capital building with a "Foreclosure Sale" sign in front of it.

BTW: Checked the US Senate website and seems the Brower Palisade bill is languishing in the Senate's Natural Resources & Parks committee (hasn't moved out of there since last year). Hopefully it'll stay there and die due to inaction.

I have to agree with DMT on this one. The only reason why vanity plates are issued is
for money.

I have had the same plate for 30 years. It's about ready to fall off and become "road pizza."
An old buzzard will be descending on it shortly !!!

But, have we forgotten the new catch phrase of "YES WE CAN ?" :?

Better yet, stamped from the panels of one of his cars.

Anyone getting the Sierra license plate?

Got a phone call asking me to purchase this plate last week. Looks like they need 7500 people to commit up front before Sep 2010 in order for this thing to roll out. Almost did it, but there's a $40 renewal fee per year or the DMV kicks you a standard plate again, hmmm.... oh yeah, and there's that design.

Do they allow 7 letters? Because I want my plate to read "SIERRAS" ...

Could be worse. Here in Almost Heaven, West Virignia we have about 35 different license plates, of which 30 are NASCAR.

Git 'er done!
