Great article on geology: http://www.summitpost.org/article/51892 ... eenaw.html

Plus we can all show the Midwest a little love. :)

...maybe putting up one of Brutus' great TR's (even if they're "older") would be appropriate this week? maybe his closest friends here on SP could pick one?

Yes!!!

May I nominate the "Windhorse First Ascent"?
Got it all.
Beer for breakfast. Wild ride in the car. The unknown of a first ascent. Unplanned Bivvy.

I'll change them on Sunday - just send me a PM with the report you'd propose or post it here like John did

PodCast TR's?

by ChugachMan » Tue Jun 16, 2009 8:10 pm

I often don't have time to sit down and read some the of the longer TR's posted, but enjoy listening to podcasts while I work (mostly in a lab). Perhaps it would be interesting to allow a summitpost "reader" to create oral renditions of the better TR's, or even for submitters/writers to be able to submit their TR in this fashion as well as the written version. Nothing like inspirational story time to help the work day go by!

Some great ideas on here !

The "audio TR's" reminds me of something I saw at the Grand Canyon.
I came across some reloadable MP3 files known as the AUDIO RANGER, put out by the
Grand Canyon Association.

It gives you a virtual tour of the trails, landmarks, history, etc.

In the distant future, will we even need interpretive rangers? Suppose somebody will
still be needed to maintain the restroom facilities and pick up trash.

An audio interpretation of TR's would be a breath of fresh air !!!

I think you should ask DMT, The Chief, or Dave D. ....if it should be done & if so, which one.

Not sure you're supposed to point to your own TR, but just in case: http://www.summitpost.org/trip-report/5 ... sgrat.html
