Really, why DOES this forum exist?

Minimally moderated forum for climbing related hearsay, misinformation, and lies.

maybe im way off base and yes i have been posting what equates to mental garbage on this forum (although the west really is the best) but its not all bad!

I guess I'll return to my earlier point then. Since a number of these threads have indeed devolved into "here's some boobs!" or a low-level insulting of other members, it really doesn't belong on the front page. Nothing unmoderated belongs on the front page.

I love fixed lines and webbing and slings, they make great free leashes for my pets and tie downs for my truck.

See! this discussion has something to offer for everyone!

really? and why would that be?

By tradition, the front page is for climbing/outdoor threads. Unmoderated threads have a tendency to quickly veer away from those topics. That's why PnP threads do not appear.

The climbers I have met for the most part have easily divided into two groups...those to busy climbing to spray and analyze topics to death on the internet...and those who talk more than they climb, thus the need for a forum like this. Keeps everyone sorted out where they are most comfortable.

Spraying about how you don't have time to spray... is still spray!

But is it ethical?

Depends on the style...

As long as you don't chip or drive there in a Subaru ...

The Sierras have put quite a few chips in my Subaru. I've rebolted the heat shield to the nipples on the underside.

If you drive a Subaru to the mountains, it's hard to get the sunburn to prove it unless you have a big sunroof or you hang your arm out the window the whole time. Therefore, Jeeps are the best.

Heck, that ain't how it works at all! You drive all bloody night both Friday and Sunday so that you can wander aimlessly, or aimly, all weekend while earning that sunburn.
