We explored the west side of the Pfeiff the other day. heres a pic and a link to more.

Took a quick trip up to Gobblers Knob in August. It was perfect hiking weather. 54 degrees in SLC and cooler up there. There was frost on some of the plants. Started hiking from the Alexander Basin TH in Millcreek Canyon at 8:10am, got to the top at 10am. Explored a bit at the top and went over to another point to the South. On the way down I spent a good amount of time taking photos (probably an hour total for the whole trip) as the wildflowers were still out and healthy. We got back down just after 12:10pm for a total of about 4 hours. Definitely good to go early. We were the only ones up at the top (saw one person in the early morn but he passed us going down). On the way down we saw about 25 people coming up and it was heating up a bit. A steep trail in the beginning and the end with a brief respite (just less steep) in the middle. Overall, one of my favorites in Millcreek for the diversity. You get steeps, aspen groves, Alexander Basin is beautiful, Gobblers Knob is a prominent peak. 2.5 miles (5 RT), 3100 feet.

I'm looking for a climbing partner for this weekend in the Wasatch. Ideally doing something I've not done previously, and that is somewhat technical and large. Matt, Brenton, Brian, Alec, anybody with a sense of humor and some skills... because i'd prefer to get toproped up some alpine 5.10 ......Check out my partners page. Thx.

Oh, man. I'd love to join you but my wife is 3 days from having our third child. Yaoh! Give me 2 weeks or so I should be back out for some fine fall climbing. I'm even thinking something wild 'n wooly in the Uintas would be fun. The east face of Reids Peak looks like it might hold some fine, moderate lines. Have a good one, and post some pics!

Great pics! I was up there Thursday and got caught in a pretty intense hailstorm, with thunder and lighting. Being up there while in the storm sure made me feel small. Its always eerie feeling the electricity in the air. Good times!

Like you said on the TR, the evenings are coming fast now. I was up near Hayden Peak yesterday on a bike and the evening caught me off guard. I was huffing and puffing to make to back to the car with some daylight. Crazy to think the mountains are blazed in gorgeous color now, and in one day they will be blanketed in snow.

Anyone see those clouds part around 9am down here in Utah Valley. Timp was lookin' good! Only about 6 inches or so, but just to see the snow return is exciting! I'm ready for some good 'ol skiing and winter climbing.
