Thanks everyone for the info, I guess I will cruise out there myself just to check it out, my bro in law I don't think can make it with his bad knees. Even though I wont have a chance to climb it, I will love to just take a look at the routes and take in my surroundings...

Just noticed on there website that the resort closes on Sept. 30. What does this mean? I do not know this area very well, I know there is a road to Saddlebag lake. Do they close this road to vehicles after the resort closes? If so I imagine that will add some time to the hike in. Can someone tell me how much time will be added if I have to walk the road? Second question, is this more of a fall ice climb? Does anyone ever go out in the spring or early summer and just climb the snow or neve? Maybe that's what I will end up doing. Being that I have limited experience on steep snow/ice, maybe I can convince someone here on SP to go with me that has more experience with this type of climb. Thanks again everyone, I am really in awe of North Peak and can't wait to see it in person...

The Saddle Bag Lake road will remain open till TP 120 is closed.

There will be no boat service so you will have to walk the entire approach.

When are planning on going up there?

I am shooting to be in the area sometime around the first of October if all goes well. I am kinda new to Sierra Coulior's. I am thinking that North Peak and Dana would be a good place to get my feet wet. I am not sure about alpine ice right now with my experience level but I would love to try them when there are snow or firm neve then work my way up to the ice. I have pretty good equipment., though I only have Black Diamond "mountaineering" axes not technical tools. I am assuming that those axes would be fine in Snow and neve right Chief? Is there anyway you might be interested in teaching me the ropes sometime, if not this year maybe come the spring? I hope I am not being to forward in asking, but I am a long time lurker here and have a lot of respect for what you have done in the Sierra's. Of course if you would want a fee for this I understand. Anyways if you would ever like to teach a newbie the ropes I would be forever grateful and that goes for anyone, I would love to have a chance to hang with anyone who knows what they are doing and give me a chance to hang with them, thanks all. Once again Chief I hope I was not being to forward in asking to hang with you sometime...
