We’re you once a NooB?

….searching for the ol’ permit at Joshua Tree NP exit in the evening while wearing the requisite backseat BD harness. This only took ~5 minutes, but luckily he had 2 draws ready for a quick clip.....just in case :)

I'm guilty of intermittent noobiness; my most recent encounter with the ol' inner-noob was yesterday (Sunday). My un-tethered chalk bag exploded in the backseat after I chucked my pack on top of it
Share your noobiness. Noob on!

That picture is a classic. You should post it over on Supertopo for best results...

Maybe it will get into Hot Belayer Magazine...

That's kind of like the guy's I've seen bouldering at Stoney wearing a harness and a figure 8. A close second are the guys who wear their racks and harnesses on the shuttle in the Valley.

The finished result, a bit less noob-ish, but still kinda sketchy:

Displayed proudly:
Top-rope belay... from the top of the climb, in a position that would hang me out over the edge so I could watcht he climber. I "made it work", note helmet is conspicuously absent.

I brought my rope in an old travel bag and the handles ripped off when I took it out of the car

Nope, never a n00b...yet.

I was ejected from the womb a fully-sponsored, 5.13+/WI5/M8/A5+ hardman and have been regressing ever since...
