I have an idea - let's have the folks needing rescue fill out an application regarding their personal life before they'll be rescued. That way we can filter out who'll compromise the gene pool and who'll strengthen it.

The "Rescue Application" would eliminate most rescues! I haven't done a lot of rescue work, but only about 10% of the people rescued were not a detriment to the gene pool.

My point exactly. :D

I was speaking with the lead SAR man in Glenwwod Springs ( won't mention names) about joining due to my climbing and medical experience. All I had to do was got to the training classes and respond to missions. I was sent this 39 page inquisition ( the first I might add) After reading through it I tossed it in the trash and never looked back. For my line of work I have to have a CBI background check That really should suffice. The dictator here wants this 39 page app plus a voice stress test! Talk about Nazi bullshit. What does my financial history have to do with pulling a fallen climber off a cliff?
