None of you have very much gear.

My gear takes up most of my basement. Kind of like Sierra Ledge Rat's display (sans scuba), plus a couple of road bikes, a couple of mountain bikes, 10 pairs of skis (downhill, nordic, and backcountry), 3 pairs of snow shoes, a couple pairs of roller skis, inline skates, nordic skates, etc.

I don't let anyone see my stuff, lest they discover the full extent of my addiction.

WTF, why do you own a pair of snowshoes (let alone 3) if you own 10 pairs of skis?

I'm sure your gear is made to look somewhat larger with the bikes and skis.

And I have to agree with another poster, why have 3 pairs of snow shows and 10 pairs of skis?

As I say, mine is in the car, garage, upstairs. Actually if you look at my climbing pack you wouldn't say anything but recently I had a CLIMBER on a forum ask who has that much gear when we described the gear list for a route we recently did (actually freeing a sport route). For some reason he thought that 7-9 BD green (0) C3's was a bit excessive.

Dingus..... I still own the Skis I learned on..... 40 years ago!

I tried to throw them out one time, they looked so sad sticking out of the can, I had to put them back into the garage.

My climbing rack is pretty dismal... I hang with rich gear heads who wont use anything old, so I use their stuff .....

Works just fine.

I'm used to have about 12 pair of skis but threw out a lot of them last summer. Now I'm down to:

- Roller skis (classic style)
- XC skis (classic)
- BC skis that can be used both in prepared tracks and off-piste.
- BC skis that are slightly wider
- Randoneé skis: ultra light
- Randoneé skis: mid fat (88 cm)

Of course what we are missing are the big and ugly fat skis. 8) I'm thinking of getting the K2 Darkside with Duke bindings. They should satisfy my needs on powder days. :) I'm also thinking of getting a pair of XC skating skis and also roller skis skating style. Of course I'd like a pair of shorter skis with alpine bindings to play around with in the half-pipe and on smaller jumps. Buying skis is a never ending story. :D
