Utah Ice?

by bird » Fri Nov 27, 2009 7:06 pm

Is there a good ice conditions report somewhere? Was planning a family ski trip in 2 weeks, but the snow sucks, so I may do a climb or two. Is great white icicle in? Other WI3-4's?

The ice here is starting to come in. bring your tools.

I'll be checking the icicle tomorrow.

There are a few excellent ice climbers on this forum that would know what u should go. Provo has some of the best 3-4's around. Icicle is good. when are u coming through?

Indeed, the bottom half was in, and middle appeared to have been climbed (& top?). Perhaps its still in.. haven't been up since sat.

Bird, I know its not ice, but the South Ridge of Superior seems right up your alley. Web cam for current conditions.

PS, I owe you a PM.

Anyone been down to Joe's Valley? Wondering if there is any ice in yet. Might head down on Sunday, but dont want to waste a day if nothing has come in yet. Thanks.

This post might be a bit late for your Joes Valley question, but some buddies were down there on Thursday and climbed Deadbolt. They said it was a bit thin, but still very fun. There are also some recent Joes Valley obs on MountainProject: http://www.mountainproject.com/v/northe ... 6565036__2
