Can you believe they haven't plowed the streets next to us? (not even once) For some reason my street got plowed, but not the surrounding side streets. How long has it been?! Let's see....it's Monday night....the storm started on Saturday.... (*&^%$#@!)

Perhaps someone on your street is politically connected! I grew up in Buffalo, where people who were on the Mayor's Enemies List sometimes got to wait until the snow melted.

I enjoyed my day off from work on Monday. First snow day since 2002!

The powder is nice out here in Reston. Plows still haven't come, but I'm not concerned. School and Unis are closed tomorrow. :D

Well, well, well !

Me thinks this deserves a SNOW PLOW joke :

[One winter morning at breakfast a couple was listening to the radio. They heard the announcer say, "We are going to have 8-10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even-numbered side of the street, so the snowplow can get through."
The wife went out and moved her car.

A week later while they are eating breakfast, the radio announcer said, "We are expecting 10-12 inches of snow today, you will need to move your car to the odd-numbered side of the street so the snowplow can get through." So the wife went out and moved her car again.

The next week, while they were eating breakfast, the radio announcer said, "We are expecting 12-14 inches of snow today and you must park..." Then the power went off! The wife was very upset. With a worried look on her face she said, "Honey, I don't know what to do. Which side of the street am I supposed to park on?"

With the love and understanding in his voice that all men who are married to blondes exhibit, her husband said, "Why don't you just leave it in the garage this time ???]

My wife is a blonde, and if she could read that, she'd think she should be offended.

You know perfectly well most folks here can't Brad. I live by the base of a hill that's pretty steep as neighborhood streets go, and while I was digging out the mailbox yesterday, I watched person after person, including some with four-wheel-drive, get stuck on the hill. I dug one lady out and she had the good sense to turn around, but when I saw the other people just keep trying after someone else dug them out, I decided I wasn't helping anyone else and would settle for the amusement factor. There was one clown who had gotten stuck there only the day before only to come back and get stuck again yesterday. Talk about someone who doesn't get it...

I could make a small fortune, though, if I spent the day at the hill with a shovel and charged $20 per rescue.

The ones that get me are the morons with the 4-wd vehicles; they seem to think that 4-wd means you can't get stuck. They also don't realize that those heavier vehicles can't stop as short as a car. Many of them drive like maniacs and seem to have an attitude toward those of us driving sensible front wheel drive cars. The others that get me are those who don't have enough sense to get the snow off of the roof of their car - if you can't reach it, get a broom or pole!

My nephew called last night. They finally plowed his street. Not sure if he was going to be able to make it into work today. He works for DIA, so he was one of the Feds who couldn't make it in on Monday.
