Sleeping System for Kili

by MScholes » Wed Jan 06, 2010 11:41 pm

Headed there in early July, need recommendations on sleeping pad/sleeping bag as mine need replacing/updating anyway, might as well get something appropriate for Kili. I like to sleep a bit on the cooler side as well. Light and compact is what I'm looking for. Thanks.

I went in feb, used my 0 degree, overkilled at lower altitude, but we camped at crater camp. I was never cold. Just bring your air pad, add closed foam if you want to be conservative.

I used a 30 degree down bag and was comfortable. It would have been chilly at Barafu camp but since we headed out at midnight I just wore a jacket to bed and was fine. I used a Big Agnes aircore matress but not as part of their system. Light set up and worked fine for me.
