In general: something in the North Cascades, a trip to the Wallowas, a different route on Hood, go skiing every month this year, do something my partners want to do, climb something I haven't thought of yet, kayak more.

Yeah, right. Give in that first time.... ...then the only mountain you'll be looking at is the dishes in the sink. :P

Exactly! That's why I never give in... The honeymoon is my choice and it will be a wonderful way to celebrate. 8)

1) Unfortunately, one of my main climbing partners Mike is moving to Spokane, so one of my goals is to find ANOTHER climbing partner who is psych'ed and is cool to hang out with (since Matt often has other partners). I hate when good climbing partners move away.

2) Become a less conservative climber. I still leave too many cards on the table where I could climb so much better if I would just relax and go with the flow a bit.

Cardio

Cardio is the most important characteristic that determines overall health and athletisim. Spefically for those that possess the drive and technical skills of the back country. Seriously, move like a mountain goat on the mixed ice, snow and rock; travel fast and effeciently utilizing route finding skills...

The Sierra Challenge, but I said that last year and never made it. I just can't seem to find the time needed to prepare for it. 40+ mile days??? WTF??? And the 2010 Challenge doesn't look to be shaping up any easier than '09. If anyone has any prep tips feel free to PM me.

For me, two or three new additions to my collection of Pyrenees three-thousanders would be a good highlight for the year. Getting back to the Alps (or flying a little bit further) is - for the moment- a real dream

My goal is to climb something allowing me to push my abilities further so a more technichal or difficult climb will win over a higher and easier route. I'd also like to visit 2-3 new countries in the process. I don't have anything planned yet and am open to joining/forming a team.

Happy New Year!

Mountaineering: Finsteraarhorn, after turning back next year. Just didn´t have the right state of mind last year after breaking into a crevasse 200m into our attempt (unroped...).

Rock climbing: Septumania, next door from Finsteraarhorn (16 pitches, French 6a+, UIAA 6+//-, 5.10b/c).

To achieve that: Lose 8 kg......

Go somewhere where you can do something fun. On my (our) honeymoon we went to Italy. But in addition to Rome, Florence, etc., we went to the Dolomites and did some hiking and a via ferrata. We would have done more but my wife caught a cold and, since it WAS our honeymoon, I couldn't exactly ditch her and go climbing.
