Why do we climb?

by nattfodd » Mon Mar 15, 2010 11:12 pm

I made a 4 minutes video of my climbing and mountain photography, to be shown at the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival last weekend. It won the first prize (Arc'teryx goodies, yay), and I thought people in here might enjoy it too:

Why do we climb?

Edit: humpf, can't embed video in the forums. Here is a link, then.

Re-edit: it's now got its very own custom object, feel free to vote it to the frontpage. :)

Nice man. Some pretty amazing photos. I would be happy to have half of those in my life time.

Once again I'm stunned by your photography, this video is unbelievable. Whens the book coming out?

What a great video!! You should submit to SP as a trip log and add some text to the photos and give details of your project. Outstanding job!

I like it. Perhaps you can embed it in a comment to FHN's Why Do You Climb page or even embed it into a custom object.

Thanks for sharing.

Wow. That's great. Superb images. Will it remain on the site? I would like to include a link to it in the custom object "Why We Do It".

Glad you guys like it! I created a custom page for it: http://www.summitpost.org/custom-object ... limb-.html

@tigerlilly: hah yes, I'm still up for the grab. :)

@AOwen: I'm still working on it. Deadline for the text is September 1st, so a reasonable guess would be for it to hit the bookstores next winter.

@sarah: I added a link in the comments of that page.

@Mark: yes, it's going to stay both on vimeo and on my webpage, so feel free to link to any of those.

@CClaude: they were also great, by photographers Adam Long and Robbie Shone. Unfortunately, I don't think that their slideshows are online, though.
