Wait until July and then have them send you a check instead.

I have an REI visa. At one point I was using it for things like auto maintenance, medical bills (racked up thousands in 2007), etc. -- that made for a nice dividend :)

These days though I'm using an airline rewards card mostly. Got a free plane ticket for Ouray this past winter that way.

Got mine yesterday: $4.56!
Couple of cliff bars, yeah!
I used to work there, so I have much gear. Now, try and get what I need on sale.

I'm a total gear whore with a REI 5 miles from my house, but paying retail??? that doesn't work for me.

As of 3/15/2010, your dividend balance is $8.98

I know how you feel! I spent 659.90 there in 2009 and received a dividend of only 15.77. I guess I know what motivates me... But on the positive side, I think I did get a good deal on different sale items. I managed to pick up their Kilo -20 bag for my son when it was on sale and was even able to get a Marmot Col -20 bag for me for $400 in Houston (hard to move them here). Alas, they won't count against either the 2009 or 2010 dividends...but something is better than naught. At least the 20% coupon is useful!

I just spent my dividend at REI.

I have a $15 dividend. I bought a $15 item and got 20% off. With shipping added, it was going to be FREE. While I was online I saw another really cool $15 item, so I added that to my basket, too. Then I saw another great thing, and added that too. Didn't really need it, but it was awesome. Then I happened to see something else, a bit pricey at $85 but I loved it and thought my girlfriend would love it. Used my 20% discount for that item instead. There was a $40 accessory for that, too, that she would like so I got that as well. Finally happened to see something else that I like, only $35, so I added that too. Got free shipping, saved another $18, yes!

Boy that $15 dividend sure saved me a lot of money.

I guess I need to start working on accumulating next year's dividend.

I used part of my dividend on several USGS quads, canister fuel, and a book.

Somewhere around $8... that's high for me. I get 90% of my stuff at Scratch and Dent sales or clearance, but this last year I started getting more climbing (read: new) gear. But I get most of that gear elsewhere, so I'm no ever expecting to get much of a dividend. As it is, I'm happy to get half of a quickdraw paid for.

Got mine the other day. $28... That means that I spent $280 there last year. Don't ask me what I bought, can't tell ya. I don't usually shop at REI because I have a plethora of local places to get stuff, so really the idea that I spent almost $300 at the store has me perplexed.
Oh well, now I will have to go and buy $28 in gu and tent stakes.

$200 dividend, and I didn't buy much of anything at REI last year.

Comes in handy since my avy transceiver died my last time out.
