Spring Mountaineering Thread 2010

I'm going to plan for a climb of Lone Peak via Big Willow April 24. Any interest out there from you Summitposters?

I'm tentatively in for this as well. I just hope I don't have to do the belly-crawl around the rock.

I think I may be able to attend this. I'll see how I feel.

You folks willing to have a couple out-of-staters tag along? We'd be self-sufficient, but love those pre-packed trails ;-)

Start time?

A coupla years ago we started hiking at 6AM. That's fine if y'all want to start then, but I will not be able to start until 7AM (I have an early morning Saturday job.) I can catch up if you want to go earlier than 7.

Changed this thread to Spring Mountaineering, 'cause I got a hankerin' for some of the classics coming up soon.

What I got on my list for Spring:

Lone Peak Big Willow April 24

Triple Traverse May 8

Cold Fusion (North Timp) May 28 (Friday)

I penciled in the Triple Traverse as well. Probably can't make Cold Fusion, as much as I would like to.

I'm going to try and make it down for the 24th...and as many of the others as I can.

Just barely saw this post. Any good skiing options up there? I am planning a climb up Box Elder Peak (from Dry Creek Canyon) this Sunday and I am having trouble getting my usual partners together for this one. I thought I would test the waters and see if anyone was intrested in bagging this peak. Of course all plans are subject to weather/avalanche conditons. Current weather forecast is calling for a slight chance of snow but is already hinting at good climbing conditions.
