Fred Beckey

I met Fred Beckey on my recent trip to the Ruth Gorge. What a treat! it was one of the highlights of my trip. See the pic on the link below. He shared with me what it was like while climbing the Northwest Ridge of Denali way back in 1954. I would have been happy meeting him anywhere, but to meet him on the Ruth was a real treat. He is a man who truly loves the mountains as shown by his continued activity.

Wow. Was he climbing? If so, what?

Good shot, man. I met him once as well, though not in a cool location like that.
Worthy of a frame, I'd say.

he was climbing with some younger guys but resting in his tent when I saw him. This picture was taken May 21st this year.

I took the pic for Dan, and it was a total treat to mee this legend. Fred was just remarkable a total trip to talk with.
