Sequoia West Side Conditions?

by SpiderSavage » Mon Jun 21, 2010 9:57 pm

I'm going up over JO pass to Jennie Lakes then over East and around the North side of Mt Siliman to Siliman Pass back down to Lodgepole this weekend. June 26-27th.

Anyone have a first hand visual on the snow level?

I'm watching this: (and it looks pretty thick from space)

Just got back from East Lake up Bubbs creek (sort of in the region) this morning. Any bowl about 10K is loaded with snow. South facing slopes are surprisingly clear. I also went to Big Meadow last week. The road off the Generals Highway was NOT open. So my dog and I hiked down a mostly clear road to Big Meadow. As of the 15th – 20% snow on the ground at big meadow with Big Meadow being a big lake. The snow is mostly left over from large drifts left. LOTS of water. Water is everywhere this year. Your route sounds solid. Have fun!
