Hey all - I'm heading out to Park City this weekend for a somewhat last minute trip for work...just looking for some good recommendations for a challenging day hike in the western Uintas (or anything with fairly easy to access from Park City). I'm unfamiliar with this mountain range, and will be picking up a map once we get out there, but for now, I'm hoping to get a few suggestions on worthwhile trails!

I've been having difficulty coming up with information online, though I have gotten a few ideas off of SP.

Based on the group's overall abilities/fitness, I'm thinking an 8-12 mile non-technical (scrambling is OK!) hike with a decent amount of elevation gain and some beautiful views would be ideal Suggestions!??

Lot's of choices.

If you want to climb something, I would recommend the Reids Peak/Bald Mountain combo. It would be my #1 choice.

You could also do a nice loop hike combining Mount Watson with Wall, Clyde and several other lakes.

Park City has a great trail system right in town too, all the way up towards Jupiter Peak / Park City Ridge and GWT... any distances up to dozens of miles possible. Mountain Trails Foundation has a good online map. The disadvantages of their local trails is that many are too popular with mtbikers, and also the elevations are lower, barely exceeding 10,000 at the top ... while near Bald Mountain Pass you can be at 10,000 right from the start. On a really hot day it makes a difference.
