After showing the world that Washington can hold it's own when it comes to fall it is time for a repeat of 2009. We did an excellent job of truely showing how special the West Coast looks last year. This year is forecasted to be twice as good. You know where I will be this fall!!! Here is the album....

Recommendations:

Mid September: Lyman Lakes and Lyman Glacier
Late September early October: The Enchantments and the Okanogan Region for larches
Late October and early November: The foothills and Leavenworth.

Harts Pass. Pasayten. May I also suggest the McLeod Mountain area.

It's not Fall yet!!!!!!!!!!!!! Summer didn't start this year until mid July with all the rains. I'm declaring Summer has to last until November now! No leaf-peeping and larch-looking until then. So it is written, so shall it be done!

Get outside TODAY. Tomorrow will be back to the low sixties, and then it's gonna do fall for a while. Today is likely the last day of summer we'll see here. There's not a cloud in the sky, the humidity isn't bad at all, and the views go forever. Bag work, ditch school, do what you have to do to get outside today.

I just got back from a bike ride, and I'm packing up for maybe Granite or Bandera (or maybe Dirty Harry) (or maybe Kendall). Get outside!! Go!! GOOOO!!

I put this album up early because the Northeast already has their's up. Also I have noted that some of the trees are beginning to show color!

I was just at Colchuck Lake, Aasgard, and the Enchantments, and at Colchuck the colors were just barely starting to turn. There was also fresh snow on Colchuck and Dragontail Peaks when I got there, I sense an early fall...

If you are looking for great fall color Grindstone on the last week in September with be the perfect mountain. This peak has both larches and tons of berry bushes. I hit it way too soon but now have the info so you now know what might be the perfect spot. The bushes are just barely beginning to turn now but in three to four weeks they will be in peak.

If you really like seeing larches Diamond Head and Tronsen Head just east of Blewett Pass is loaded with larches. I have the ages now on summitpost so check them out. This area is a fall color GOLD MINE!!! Some decidious trees are now beginning to change. Berry bushes should be turning in two weeks!!
