Bob has dayhiked each peak on the Sierra Club's Angeles Chapter Sierra Peaks Section list of peaks. This is mindboggling. Matthew Holliman did it earlier, on Bob's website is a link to an article about Matthew's accomplishment.

The fact that anyone could dayhike Devil's Crag is seriously insane.

No it is not insane. I am sure any person without disability, who is able to train and willing to put a lot of hard work into it can do it.

Nope, still insane. Doable yes, but still insane IMHO. But then again I have a 15 mile a day limit. I like to stop and smell the flowers.

Congrats Mr. Burd.

Sitting here annoyed that the '69' thread has no pictures.

Sitting here amazed that a thread started by Pete hasn't yet had a Sierra Club rant.

Congratulations on such a grand accomplishment!

Also, thanks for maintaining such a fine website. To echo what 1000Pks said, simple thanks doesn't seem enough to convey my gratitude. Many times, I've used the information in your trip reports to assist in planning my own trips. And, when stuck at a desk, I've enjoyed your stories and photo documentation. Best wishes in your future travels!

Congrats from me, too. It is mindboggling to even think doing them all as day hikes. I re-lived all your adventures through your trip reports. Thanks for many hours of keeping me from work :) I am sure you're not about to retire, so I wonder what you come up with next.

I must have missed the original news. Who is Bob, and what is the URL of his website? I would like to read up on his feats.

Well, I tried to say congrats, but the new improved phpBB 189.345 refuses to let me post. Here's another try.

So, you are a member since 2003 and don't know who Bob is or what his feats are? I think that's heresy and reason for immediate account deletion :) :)

Thanks all. It's been great fun. The best part has been sharing that time on the trail with well over a hundred fellow enthusiasts. All without joining a club - imagine that. Yet some of the Sierra Club members I've hiked with have been among the best, so I don't begrudge the SC folks a thing. Their history, their trip reports, their lists, have all been instrumental in my success and a source of inspiration.

I should correct the OP though. #69 would go to Matthew Holliman. I would be #70, I think. I will pester them to change their bylaws to make their finishers list inclusive, much like the CMC. Otherwise, it's incomplete, no?

What's next? There's a bunch more lists I'm working on outside the Sierra. In the Sierra I'll just move to the more obscure peaks, named and unnamed. It's all good fun.

Congrats on the significant feat Bob. Also a sincere thanks for the the inspiration to get into the mountains by lurkers and occassional scramblers like me.
