La Sportiva Baruntse, size 45 $350

by Dane1 » Wed Oct 13, 2010 6:11 pm

Like new Baruntse dbls every bit the equal in warmth as the the $700 Spantik. All while offering a better fit for most. Sadly too small for me. Size 45, $350 US plus actual shipping. Selling cheap so I can get a new pair of boots asap.
Send me a PM if you are interested.

I own a pair of these and am very very happy with them. Used them on Elbrus and on a couple of very cold days high up in the alps in winter. Also went ice climbing with these and a pair of Grivel G12's. Obviously both aren't perfect for the job, but I was quite impressed with how it went.

Hey Dane,

Still stand by your old review about the Baruntses vs the Spantiks? I'm probably going to get a pair soon (though I wear a 44, so I can't get yours =/)

I do think for most the Baruntse is a better boot than the Spantik...certainly a more rigid sole and a soft flexing upper. Having climbed a fair bit in both I prefer the fit and climbing prowess of th Baruntse. Barunse also fits me much much better than the Spantik, the majority of that because of the easily heat formed inner. They climb hard technical ground extremely well. I hurt a foot this summer so had to bump my boots a 1/2 size. For me at least I wear the same size in the majority of the La Sportiva boots. Trango, Nepal, Spantik and a Baruntse in a 45...until recently.

These boots how ever have been -SOLD-! Thanks!
