Onion Valley TH Winter Access

How far up the road toward the Onion Valley TH can you drive in the winter? I want to get a sense of what the approach is like.

Depends on the snowfall for the season.

Dry Season: all the way up.

Wet Season: 7K level at best.

Normal Season: 8K


La Nina's tend to be dry seasons for this area. We shall see......

East side winter trips are generally one day (minimum) longer than anything in the summer. You can easily count on four days to attempt any summits out of Onion Valley in winter. Also +1 on the Chief's post above, spot on.
