We need a "laugh" button!

by Buz Groshong » Thu Nov 18, 2010 6:52 pm

We need a "laugh" button that would function like the "thanks" button. When I first joined SP I would very often see where someone had quoted an earlier funny post and added nothing more than some dufous smiley faces. Now, I'll admit that I'm not terribly up on Internet etiquette (or any other ettiquette for that matter), but I thought that sort of behavior was really lame (still do). I think a "laugh" button would not only encourage people to avoid that sort of thing, but would encourage the old codgers like me to be more expressive about the posts that we find humorous.

Just use the thanks button instead.

I've done that, but it could be misinterpreted.

Summitpost is a serious site.

If we add a "laugh button," then we have to add a "cry" button!

Then, SOMEBODY would be accused of pushing your button..

who's with me?

We need more laughing here. Not more crying or whining. But a "not this crap again" button wouldn't be a bad idea.

I think a fart button, with built in .wav sound effect, would also be useful and similarly expressive, but in the opposite sense, to a laugh button. How about it Matt?
