Marcy Conditions

by beaudittl » Sat Dec 11, 2010 7:01 pm

Hey all, I'm headed up to tackle Mt. Marcy next week. I was just curious if anyone had any info on trail conditions. I plan on taking snowshoes and crampons, but would prefer to be able to hike in crampons. Is there a relatively good snowfall up there or is it hard enough to use the crampons? Any info appreciated. Happy trails and Merry Christmas guys. Cheers!

Check here daily:

Note that conditions can change fast. Expect some rain today and Monday which will consolidate existing snow and then freeze.

Have not been up there but my guess would be any rain down low may very well be snow up high and if so lots of it. I would take the snowshoes.
