Looking for a New Hardshell

by Alex Wood » Tue Dec 21, 2010 8:33 pm

So I have had The North Face Serac GTX Paclite Shell for a year and its not holding up to the use and ripping in a few places at the seem. So I am moving away from GTX Paclite to something more durable.

Shells I am looking at-

Arc'teryx Beta GTX Pro-Shell
Mountain Hardwear Artero GTX Pro-Shell
Mountain Hardwear Axial GTX Pro-Shell
Marmot Exum GTX Pro-Shell
The North Face Mountain Guide Performance Shell

Any body have any experience with these shells? Thanks for the feedback in advance

I'd put the Patagonia Shelter Stone on the list as it is about the same weight as those on your list and is fairly durable.

I'd look at the Rab Super Dru.

eVent is good stuff.
