On Friday, two of us climbed a route up the north face of Mt. Baldy. Here is our route:

Has anyone heard of another ascent? I have heard of people skiing part way down.

Here is my trip report.

Taco told me about your trip on the conditions page. That looked like a bad ass day. Was it pretty warm when you started? When we climbed on Saturday, it felt like it was 65 degrees at 5:30 in the morning.

Do you mean another ascent this season or just another ascent period? I have to assume that everything in that range has been climbed several times over.

Denjem: it froze the night before, so the temperatures were perfect until we hit direct sunlight.

fatdad: I assume the route has been done before, but I've never heard a report. So I was hoping my post would bring some stories out of the woodwork.

Regardless of firsts or not, the San Gabriels are f*cking steep gnarly mountains.

That looks like it would be FUN to ski!!!
