Thanks Rick!

CBakwin, we pretty much got hooked on Utah Canyoneering ever since the first time we visited Horseshoe Canyon and saw The Great Gallery. It's been our home away from home in spring and fall. Also got some mtn biking in and climbed at Wall Street in Moab this trip. Best 10 day Mothers day I've ever had!

Welcome back, Jade and Dug ... YEAH!

This gives me one more reason to visit Utah in July. The most obvious is to escape the "Cesspool of Heat" in Arizona.

Yeah, Utah is terriffic! My first slot was "the joint trail" out of Chesler Park, Canyonlands in around 1974. Didn't get down there this year (sad face thingy). Have a good 2011.

Totally understand the (sad face thingy). We did 7 canyons on this last trip and just wanted to do more. I bet hanging out in Canyonlands in the 70's was pretty trippy. Very cool!

Going down memory lane :

My first visit to Arches NP was in 1974! I went down there in a yellow school bus from Tooele, Utah.

I liked traveling with people back then, 'cause it was pretty cool NOT to have to communicate with somebody with a blackberry
or stupid cell phone STUCK to their right ear.

And, the women were so full of LIFE back then. Yep, those were the daze.

Just a couple of old broken in his and hers Evolv shoes. They already have a lot of miles on them so the broken in part was perfect for a lot more miles. A good choice for this trip because of all the river crossings, slots with water over sharp rocks, dry rock, very silty slippery mud, plain old hard core mud and sand. Even after all that they clung to the canyon walls like glue.
