Winter Attempt on Granite

by blissjocky » Wed Jan 19, 2011 12:45 am

Here is a video of trip we took to Granite Peak in Montana last week.

Cold and snowy sums it up.

Awesome, I dream some day of a winter attempt after multiple summer successes. Great video. I'm curious why you chose the SW couloir route, less wind/avi exposure or possibly easier climbing?

Good luck in Feb!

"CRAZY EPICNESS"
Your unbridled enthusiasm is so apparent in the vid. A couple years back my partner and I were fortunate enough to summit Grante but it was in August. This was indeed CRAZY EPIC!
Cheers to you both.

Last Week..... the latter part of May?? That is considered Late Spring, not Winter. Must be all that Global Warming making things cold and Wintery throughout the West. If this keeps up, all them glaciers that are melting in that region will return in record time.

Nice video!!

It was an inside joke as reality here in the Eastern Sierra and at many other areas in the Western Mountains are still totally snowbound with the exact same conditions as were in this video dated back in January.

Doh! Sorry I missed the joke. Maybe *I* need more caffeine.
Yes, I still have snow in my yard as well (5300' in Idaho).
