Central Switzerland's Via Alpina conditions

by kcurchin » Sat Jun 11, 2011 12:44 am

I am trekking on the Via Alpina in Switzerland from Adelboden to Grindelwald from June 18-June 23. I am curious about snow conditions in any of the mountain passes, particularly the Bunderchrinde, the Bluemlisalphutte and the Sefinenfurgge (Adelboden, Kandersteg, Lauterbrunnen areas. Please advise.

I suggest that you call the huts at which you plan to stay along the way. The hut wardens should be familiar with current trail conditions. Contact information for nearly all SAC huts can be found on line.

I just looked and the Bluemlisalphütte is opening on the 17th.

If you can't reach anyone there, you might try the operators of the Oeschinen lift and the Almenalp lift (just below the Bunderchrinde) at Kandersteg.
