Sorry for not returning to post my experiences in a timely manor. I did not make Gokyo Ri. En route to Nepal, I had a flight cancelled from Hong Kong to Nepal, which delayed me two days. So rather than having 10 trekking days to attempt Gokyo Ri, I was down to 8 trekking days so opted to do the Annapurna Base Camp trek. ABC was a great trek, I enjoyed the varied environments... terraced farming, bamboo rain forests, and high alpine.
Thanks to all the great advice that I received about Nepal...
