For us East-Coast hikers, getting to the trailhead was as much adventure as the hike itself! 4 Wheeling in Colorado is NOT for the faint-of-heart. After getting lost on the Alpine Loop, crossing two rivers going up Nellie Creek, Uncompaghre seemed almost tame. The weather, flowers and view truly spectacular and worth all the effort!
