Images of mountains on currency

by Baarb » Tue Jan 03, 2012 2:10 am

Was thinking about doing an album on here of banknotes and coins that have images of mountains on. Picked up a few nice ones recently showing Ama Dablam and Fuji amongst others and figured they might be worth sharing. Anyone else either a numismatist or just happen to hold on to such things as souvenirs when travelling about?

Excellent idea. I have a 0.50€ coin from Slovenia with Triglav on it, and a 20 cents coin from former Slovak Korun with Krivan on it. Eurocents kept the same design afterwhile (from 2008). I'll scan them as soon as possible.
Finland's Euros also have lots of nature patterns on them but not precisely mountains.

You could also throw in postage stamps, being that it's very rare that letters are (even) posted these days - some little pieces of HISTORY!

What a coincidence. I just picked up a quarter with Mt. Hood on it (yesterday). Will take a picture and post it!
