Oh bummer, no I thought the road back to Saddlebag was before the gate where they close 120. Other plans now.

Today was pretty nice, cloudy but still a fair amount of sun and no precipitation, though it is supposed to dump a bunch of snow tomorrow. I was able to snowshoe out to Wagon Creek from my backyard this morning:

I am still working on the route, so this is speculation, but I am pretty confident that I can reach the summit of Eddy by following Wagon Creek and the southeast shoulder of the mountain. Not bad to nail an ultra-prominence peak from your backyard.

They had Flash Flooding throughout the "Drought" stricken areas of Norcal.

Where did all that water, over 6-10" of QPF in less than 72 hours, go?

Straight to the ocean.

Why?

Enviro's not allowing through imposed moratoriums for the construction of ANY new reservoirs. The same Enviro's that are screaming CC.

Stupidity and Hypocrisy at it's best.

And in other news:

A cluster of earthquakes were centered near Mustang Mesa, north of Bishop, CA. None of the quakes measured more than 1.0 on the Richter Scale, and upon further investigation, were linked to someone jumping up and down outside their home...

Lot of white stuff´s been coming down here in the alps plus it´s also been raining in the eastern alps up quite high which makes a mess of things somewhat. Avallanche level was up to 4 yesterday which put paid to my ski-tour.
Hopefully it´ll all settle down for next weekend.
