Help I am stuck in Detroit and I can't get out

by surly » Wed Jan 25, 2012 12:45 am

I've got dreams and they don't include forums but rather snow, trees and a fresh coffee from my stove.
What am I supposed to do here?

Folks native or long-time in the area help a new Michigan-er out. I need to get out of the house and could use some first hand local knowledge!

And if you have any energy, thirst for advernture, and body warmth left after ice climbing, you can always go ice diving:

How 'bout ice fishing ??? Catching and eating fish is good for the mind and body.

Michigan gets lots of lake effect snow. But you have to go to either the western lower peninsula (long walk from Detroit), or the western upper peninsula (VERY long walk from Detroit.) IMO, the UP is better cause there's lots more elbow room.
