I like #2 the best of the three. That is one of the nicest hikes in the park.

Bump!!

We're looking at Saturday, 10 March for the hike.

Hike Plan is a combination of the Knob Mountain, Jeremy's Run, and Neighbor Mountain trails in the SNP. This hike is 16 miles long, includes about 3,500 ft of gain and takes about 7 hours.
It's a circuit hike that starts/ends at the Elkwallow Picnic area near MP 24 on Skyline Drive.

So far, it looks like Bob Sihler and myself are the only "for sures". Who else is in?

I'd be down for that, assuming that we get an early start--no later than 7am--as I have to be back in DC (and presentable!) by early evening. But I certainly don't mean to impose my will if no one else is game for a semi-alpine start.

I'd also point out that preliminary forecasts suggest some rain is possible in SNP next weekend.

Adventurer, how did the hike turn out? Hope you got a good turnout. Sorry I had too many distractions to come and join you.

Unfortunately, the hike had to be postponed due to participants' schedule changes. We'll try for a new date this Spring.
