stolen gear, Corvallis

by kylenicolls » Mon Apr 30, 2012 7:54 pm

Yeah last night (4/30/12) out of my truck at home in Corvallis between 12:30am when I got back from Thielsen and this morning. There is probably a few people from the area. I know I am SOL on probably most items. Simply too common around here. The pack, stove, helmet, axe, and gear-clothing are the lesser common and more ID'able. But here is a shot. I have already reported it. The fucker(s) punched out my door lock. Now I have to fix it too.

Any info PM/email me please. In the unlikely event. kyle.nicolls@gmail.com, links are good or even save photo's and attach if you are somehow highly suspect.

Thanks, Kyle.

Jacket, pants, crampons, helmet, pack, gaiters....

Softshell, helmet, light, technically my pant legs too as they were zipped off.

Gregory Baltoro 75L.

This is the best photo of my harness and that crap hanging off it.

OR Virtuoso was stowed away inside.

You will probably never see one of these stoves either. SIGG Firejet. THink they stopped making them 10+ years back. Oh that Ti backcountry pot was in there too.

I'll keep a look out on Craiglist.org. In the meantime, do you have homeowner's/renter's insurance?

Hey Jared. Yeah, thank, appreciate it. I think I have done about all I can do. I'm going to see the if Outdoor Rec Center at school will take a flier or at least FYI the outdoors staff there.

Once I re-acquire some of the essentials it'll be cool to get out again.

On the plus, it was only 68 bucks for a new lock assembly. They busted the old one. Now I have 2 keys. Well, will tomorrow. THere is large bolt/washer and two nuts to lock it in place until replacement.

Have you contacted Ace Buyers and Albany Coin, or Lebanon Fast Cash for that matter? Worth letting them know just in case. Damn, dude, that sucks bad. I'll keep my eyes and ears open, I'm usually browsing CL for climbing and mountaineering gear a few times a week. Flyers at Dixon/McAlexander, Peak Sports, REI, Backcountry Gear, and all up and down Monroe around campus. Hit the coffee shops too, if you need any help with that, let me know since I'm not working right now.

I also just emailed a guy from OSU that bought a rope from me, he's always browsing the web for deals and climbs at the OSU walls, so I asked him to keep a lookout and email me or you direct.

I'm going to post out some flyers tomorrow too, yeah at Dixon, Peak etc and some others.

Talked to the near-by pawn shops, Albany, Eugene, Salem. Didn't get to fax Eugene yet, but dropped off flyers at the albany ones.

THanks for the help. Do appreciate.

Wow! I'll of course keep my eyes and ears open. I work at OSU and go to the climbing gym a few days a week, so who knows -- maybe some idiot, assuming he/she is here, will slip up. And I'll be eying Craigslist. Sorry man!

P.S. If nothing else, this kind of brings attention to those of us in/around Corvallis. Tighter group in the future? Got your back!

I'd bring in a list of your missing items with some pictures. It can be slow there, and I wouldn't be surprised if they would be willing to keep the list by their computers and do some Web hunting when things are a little slow -- assuming they have access to Craigslist or any other sites. Don't forget about Amazon and Ebay.

See if they'll let you put fliers at the front of the climbing centers.

Just another thought, might forward this to the Mazamas and Mountaineers too.
