This TH provides access to the Bolam Glacier and the north side of Shastina.

Hi jibmaster, a very nice TR. I may explore your approach next time. Thanks for sharing and detailed info.

However, for me the benefit of NG is 1) a trail leading all the way to the base camp. I agree it's a bit lengthy, so you can always go straight up through the forest. Also 2) setting up the high camp (at ca 11,000) gives you an easy access to several routes on both sides of the HB ridge. It is especially valuable if you plan to climb more than one route over a single trip.
