Has anyone shipped Fuel?

by Yeti » Wed Jun 06, 2012 12:48 pm

To avoid the uncertainty of checked baggage making it from plane to plane,I'm wanting to ship my gear cross-country to a friend.

i know I won't be permitted to ship it overnight-air, but will shipping via ground cause any problems? Has anyone tried this?

Thanks
Eric

It is possible to ship fuel via ground, but it is likely not going to be worth your trouble and expense.

If you believe it is worth it, as an example Fed Ex requires a hazardous materials certification form to be filled-out and you will need to contact them in order to package your fuel the way they (and state & federal laws) require. I assume you would need to contact any company for shipping in order to comply. As a start just check their website.

Just heard the same thing from our shipping department. Far less trouble to hit up an REI etc while I'm out there.

Thanks!
