Hiking the Beaten Path in Late July 2012

by JBPhotoMT » Mon Jul 09, 2012 8:38 pm

Has anyone been up in this area of the Beartooths? I had planned on hiking with the Father in Law and Brother in Law late August, but they apparently got late July and already got the last week of July off. So I'm getting nervous now after I saw this photo from Fossil Lake yesterday morning.

I'm starting to consider hiking somewhere lower that week, and trying to get back out there later in the summer!

I think you'll be fine. Here is a trip report from late July 2006 http://ghostwood.org/nick/trips/Beartooths2006/0.html.

I just read through your trip report. I live in Billings, but am very jealous of where you live! My grand father lives in absarokee and I can't get enough of the area up there!
